Avosil was formulated over many years in collaboration with leading scar experts. Topical or injectable steroids have been the accepted medical therapy for treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scarring for the past four decades. Steroids have not become routine in post trauma or post-surgical medical care because of side effects. Instead, steroids are used to treat scars that have become problematic. Therefore, Avosil gives you the benefits of decreased inflammation, traditionally delivered by steroids, but without the side effects.

Avosil is best used after surgery or trauma. It should be used on closed wounds after repitheliazation has occurred. It should be applied to the incision for 6-8 weeks, once or twice daily. The reduction in signs of inflammation and in pain around the incision is readily noted soon after application. Unlike atrenal corticosteroids, Avosil does not produce hypopigmentation or fat atrophy. Avosil has been found to be effective in many post-burn and post-operative patients.
